Greane Tree Technology President Annmarie Lanesey is looking forward to participating in the upcoming panel discussion and networking event entitled “From College to Career: How Did She Do It?” The event will be held in the Campus Center Assembly Hall at the University at Albany from 3 to 6 pm on Thursday, November 1. Panelists will discuss how they chose or chanced upon their current positions, what they like about technology and technology careers, the advantages and disadvantages of being a woman in a technology field, the importance of mentorship, and how to balance professional and personal life.

Rails Girls Ruby on Rails Workshop

Greane Tree Technology President Annmarie Lanesey attended Rails Girls in Washington, DC on September 15 and 16 as part of an effort to bring the informative, inspiring, and fun event to the Capital District software community early next year. The workshop is an introduction to web development using Ruby on Rails.The hands-on workshop began with an Installation Fest at which participants configured their computers for building a web application in Ruby on Rails.

Greane Tree Technology Group, LLC is proud to announce its placement in the Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber of Commerce’s business competition. Sixteen Capital Region businesses competed in the competition of the Chamber's Entrepreneur Program. Prizes included $1000 cash sponsored by First Niagara Bank, a new printer/ scanner/ fax system from Repeat Business Systems, as well as a one year membership to the chamber. Nehme Frangie, vice president of partnerships and operations at Vicarious Visions in Menands –– the company that created such popular games as “Guitar Hero,” “Spider-Man” and “Tony Hawk” –– was the keynote speaker and inspired the businesses to forge ahead despite the current state of the economy.
